Mudeater was a album I recorded a couple of months after "Walleyecandy" came out, and was supposed to be the follow up.
Most of the songs were in bits before I started, and some were new ones, all was put together mixed and mastered over one week in the lake dsitrict,
which was the first time in my life where I had a solid amount of time to spend on the one thing, and it was great !
In the day Hannah and I would hike around the hills, and then get back and go in our seperate rooms, Hannah in the kitchen painting, me in the lounge recording. It was the way to live as far as I'm concerned !
The album was originally going to be called Dengie, the Dengie was a name for a certain area in England, that was full of mud,
some friends of mine used to say that people from the dengie lived off of mud. To a boy fresh of the plane from Canada this was an image that was too difficult to forget..
I decided to keep the name simple and just call it Mudeater in the end.
The painting was painted by Hannah Hughes, and is a picture of me eating chocolate cake...not mud or poo !
