Cassettera
is a series of 3 albums, 34 songs in total that were recorded in one day.
This has been split into 3 as listening to the full 34 is equal to living
in hell.
The recordings were a culmination of songs written over roughly one year
in 1999.
They were recorded onto a marrantz portable tape deck using two pzm's,
me on a borrowed acoustic sitting on the wooden floor in a room in a house,
in Manor house, which I shared with half of the band Klint, a crazy dutch
girl who smoked way too much, a cat called Nina, and a northerner called
John who once phoned me tell me he was being given a blow job (during
the phone call), what do you say to that ?
Recording 34 songs in one go was one hello of a task for me, and I wanted
to just keep them as they were, it captures a place in time for me, which
is both sad and funny, and I hope it gives something to you.
The artwork is a lino cut of the cassette these were recorded onto...cassettes
were and are amazing !
